A New Jersey man is accused of scouting security on the George Washington Bridge while possibly planning attacks at various New York-New Jersey spans, court records and reports say.

Daniel Czerepak, 29, appeared in court Monday in Bergen County where prosecutors said the Wallington man was busted on Sept. 19 doing “reconnaissance” at the GWB, according to NorthJersey.com.

Authorities say Czerepak was trying to enter a restricted area with a fake ID for construction company Skanska USA, which is contracted to do work on the bridge, court records show.

The former military man had also recently crossed the Brooklyn Bridge and Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, as well as the Lincoln Tunnel, the newspaper reports.

“When you put the pieces together, a picture emerges. And this picture is frankly terrifying,” the prosecutor said in court, according to NorthJersey.com.

When cops searched his home they found multiple high-capacity magazines — but no weapons or bullets, court records show.

The empty mags were from Czerepak’s military service, the report says.

Czerepak is being held in Bergen County Jail on charges of multiple counts of possession of large-capacity ammunition and criminal trespassing.
