ALBANY — A week after State Police Superintendent Harry Corbitt quit amid scandal, his replacement, too, has resigned.
Corbitt stepped down amid allegations his agency was used to pressure a Bronx woman not to seek a court order of protection against a top aide to Gov. Paterson.
Now First Deputy Superintendent Pedro Perez is quitting effective Friday.
He is under investigation by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo for having allegedly authorized the head of Paterson’s security unit, Maj. Charles Day, to contact Sherr-una Booker, who accused Paterson aide David Johnson of assaulting her.
