ALBANY — SUNY is spinning off its most successful high-tech research center to create a college focused on creating jobs statewide.

A resolution for a board meeting slated for today outlines a lengthy procedure by which the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering will separate from the University at Albany, starting in 2014-15.

Professor Alain Kaloyeros, a Gov. Cuomo ally and the nano center’s founder, is to be named CEO.
