Hot, hot, hot!
A heat wave blasted into town yesterday, and oven-like temperatures will bake the Apple all day and all night for the whole week.
Yesterday’s high in New York was 89 degrees. We can expect temperatures in the mid- to high 90s today, dropping only to 78 degrees tonight, said AccuWeather meteorologist Mike Pigott.
And the humidity is going to be so bad, “it will definitely feel like you’re swimming in the heat,” Pigott said.
Tuesday’s high is forecast to hit 101 degrees — which would be three degrees shy of the 1999 record.
The 90-degree heat is expected to stay on until Friday, when possible thunderstorms could bring temperatures closer to normal.
