New York’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign hit a “major milestone” with 85.1 percent of adults getting at least one jab, Gov. Kathy Hochul said Saturday.
Reaching the number was “putting us one step closer to ending this pandemic and getting our lives back to normal,” Hochul said.
The number of New Yorkers who had completed their vaccination series stood at 76.2 percent Friday.
The state had given out 73,603 vaccine doses from Friday to Saturday.
The statewide COVID-19 positivity rate Friday was 2.22 percent and, when measured on a seven-day average, it was 2.47 percent.
The positivity rate in New York City Friday measured on a seven-day average was 1.36 percent.
There were 32 deaths from the virus in New York Friday including seven among New York City residents.
