The number of New Yorkers hospitalized with COVID-19 continues to slide, dropping to 4,617, according to the latest count.
The number of positive coronavirus tests Friday stood at 2.92 percent out of 225,793 and the statewide positivity rate, measured on a seven-day average, was 3.16 percent, Gov. Cuomo announced Saturday.
New York City’s seven-day positivity rate on Friday was 4.04 percent, up a tick from the previous day’s measure of 3.97 percent.
The virus claimed 77 lives Friday including 43 residents of the five boroughs.
The state has administered 6,446,720 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine including 182,584 in the previous 24 hours, Cuomo also announced Saturday. He said 1.9 million people in New York City have received at least one jab.
