New York Law School has closed its Lower Manhattan campus after a student reported coming into contact with a New Rochelle lawyer who, along with his family and a neighbor, tested positive for coronavirus, a report said Wednesday.

The student came forward to officials after crossing paths with the afflicted attorney, according to a Law360 article.

The outlet did not name the attorney, but he has been identified by sources as Lawrence Garbuz, 50.

The student, also not named in the article, is now under self-quarantine, while the campus is being thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, Law360 reported, citing a statement from dean Anthony Crowell.

“Our student acted responsibly and with great consideration for our community,” Crowell reportedly said.

Separately, a student at Yeshiva University’s Cardozo Law School acknowledged contact with Garbuz, Law360 reported, citing a statement from Cardozo dean Melanie Leslie.

Garbuz’s 20-year-old son attends school at Yeshiva University’s Washington Heights campus, and has also tested positive for the illness.

The Cardozo student has also self-quarantined, but not displayed any symptoms of the deadly disease, Leslie told the outlet.

In addition to Garbuz and his son, his wife and 14-year-old daughter have also tested positive for the coronavirus, officials revealed Wednesday.

Additionally, Garbuz’s neighbor tested positive after driving Garbuz to an area hospital to be checked out.

In addition to those five patients, a sixth New Yorker tested positive on Sunday in the Empire State’s first confirmed case.

That patient is a 39-year-old health care worker who recently traveled to Iran, one of several nations across the globe facing particularly widespread outbreaks.
