A New York man was busted for deliberately coughing on staffers at a Connecticut hospital while claiming that he’d tested positive for the coronavirus, authorities said.
Robert Gordon, 30, of the Bronx, was charged with five counts of first-degree breach of peace stemming from a dispute Saturday night at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, the Waterbury Republican-American reported.
Police said Gordon was at the hospital around 9:20 p.m. when he refused to follow staffers’ instructions.
He then allegedly began to argue with them, taking off his disposable face mask to purposely cough on them.
Gordon told staffers that he had tested positive for the virus in New York. It was no confirmed whether he was indeed positive.
Gordon was released on a promise to appear in court, though no date has been set for his next appearance.
