Here’s one upside to paralyzing, aggravating New York traffic: motorists in the Empire State face less risk of a fatal crash than in the vast majority of the country.

NY drivers face a 0.4913 percent chance of being involved in a serious car accident, according to an analysis of 2019 federal data completed by Uplift Legal Funding.

That’s an improvement over 2018’s figure of 0.6339 percent.

Only drivers in Texas, Florida and California are safer on average.

New Jersey drivers are slightly more at risk than those in New York, facing 0.6689 percent odds — 44th nationwide.

Worst off: Idaho drivers, with 1.7312 percent odds.
