A yellow school bus decorated with 50 pairs of pajamas has been rolling around Westchester County this week.
Instead of kids, the bus is being filled with even more pajamas. They’re being collected as part of a national program to aid needy children.
On Friday, hundreds of schoolchildren in PJs planned to stuff the bus with their donations at the Concord Elementary School in Ardsley, N.Y.
Former TV marketing executive Genevieve Piturro launched the Pajama Program a decade ago. She’d been reading bedtime stories to children at a Harlem shelter, and noticed that many slept in their street clothes.
Since then, a half million pairs have gone to children in 42 states.
