Whatever your plans this holiday weekend, the weather is going to do more than cooperate. Moderate temperatures and sunny skies are on tap for all three days.

The thermometer is expected to reach the lower 70s Saturday, though with bright sunshine, it will feel closer to 80 in the afternoon.

The air will get muggier as the evening winds down, and some areas could see a thunderstorm late or overnight as a front moves in.

“Sunday will feel the most like summer,” said Accuweather meteorologist Dean DeVore. Expect temperatures to rise into the 90s, along with enough humidity to make things feel a little sticky. Expect a thunderstorm late in the afternoon or early evening.

As is typical, it will be cooler at the shore, with temps in the upper 70s in New Jersey and on Long Island beaches.

That taste of summer won’t last very long. Monday will be a little cooler and a lot less humid, with patchy clouds and bright sunshine. The thermometer could hit 80, though it will feel warmer with all that sun.

“All in all, this is pretty good stuff,” DeVore said, noting that while we call this weekend the unofficial start of summer, there’s still a month of spring left.
