Most New Yorkers are apparently smarter than a fifth-grader.

The Post challenged city residents to answer the tougher new math questions that public-school students will face on standardized tests next month, and although the questions made them sweat, most passed.

As The Post reported yesterday, kids in grades 3 through 8 will face harder questions on a wider range of topics.

These New Yorkers tried to answer four sample questions similar to the ones on the eighth-grade exam:

Caitlin Yuhas, 23, dancer, Park Slope, Brooklyn Score: 25%

“It’s basic math. It’s pretty easy to follow, even for fifth-graders. You aren’t going to need to know the slope of something when you’re paying a bill at dinner.”

Bo Kim, 26, eighth-grade math teacher, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn 100%

“If my students took this, I’m not sure how many of them would do well on it. Maybe I’ll have them do it to prep.”

Brian Zambuto, 29, TV producer, East Village 50%

“I think my math level is that of a high-school freshman. I did better than I expected.”
