Newark Mayor Cory Booker is vying for a second four-year term today.

Booker, who is running against four candidates, has raised about $7.5 million. His nearest rival, former Essex County Prosecutor Clifford Minor, has raised a little over $300,000.

Democrat Booker’s critics say the mayor’s fund-raising prowess has done little to alleviate the city’s budget crisis. Last year, about 2,000 city workers had to take pay cuts.
