A sunken-faced Nick Reiner appeared in court Monday on charges of murdering his legendary filmmaker father Rob Reiner and his mother Michele — as a possibility of getting the death penalty still looms.
Nick, wearing a brown jumpsuit with his hands and legs shackled, was only in court for the arraignment for a few minutes as he entered a not guilty plea Monday. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in December.
The Reiner’s youngest child only spoke once during the hearing, saying “yes” when the judge asked if he was OK with his next court date.

The woman was then escorted down a private elevator.
The 32-year-old could still face the death penalty for the alleged murders.
“This case is a death penalty eligible case. Along those lines, we take the process in which we determine whether or not the death penalty should be sought extremely seriously and it goes through a very rigorous process. We will be looking at all aggravating and mitigating circumstances,” said LA District Attorney Nathan Hochman outside the court after the hearing.

The Dec. 14 murders of Rob and Michelle Reiner shocked Hollywood to its core. Nick was arrested the day after the bloody bodies were discovered.
The 78-year-old “When Harry Met Sally” director and his 68-year-old wife were found by their daughter, Romy.
Nick has struggled with addiction, and has been in and out of drug rehab since age 15.
He co-wrote the 2015 semi-autobiographical film “Being Charlie,” which his father directed. Released in 2016, the movie follows a teenager struggling with drug addiction and explores the tense dynamic between father and son, reflecting aspects of their real-life relationship.
His relationship with his parents was strained.
Just hours before their murders, Reiner and his parents got into a “very loud argument” at a holiday party hosted by Conan O’Brien, sources confirmed to The Post. Nick also had a confrontation with comedian Bill Hader at the same event, storming off in a huff.
