The mother of Nixzmary Brown will have her 43-year sentence reduced by seven years after an appeals court threw out one of her assault convictions.

Nixzaliz Santiago was convicted in 2008 in Brooklyn Supreme Court of manslaughter and other charges, including two counts of felony assault, stemming from the fatal 2006 beating and torture of the 7-year-old girl.

Nixzmary’s stepfather, Cesar Rodriguez, who dealt the fatal blow, is serving a 29-year term.
