A 3-year-old New Jersey boy died after falling 10 feet from a window at his home — and being mauled by the family’s dogs in the back yard, officials said.

The boy was critically injured by the time cops arrived at the Elizabeth home in the 400 block of South Fifth Street around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office. He died an hour later at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, authorities said.

The family’s dogs, which were in their fenced-in back yard, were taken by a local animal control agency.

The dogs, which neighbors said were pit bulls, were expected to be euthanized, NJ.com said.

“The dogs are currently quarantined, and the city is moving towards euthanizing them,” Elizabeth spokeswoman Kelly Martins told the site.

It was unclear how the child fell. His name was not released.

No criminal charges have been filed, and cops said they are still investigating the incident.
