A drive-thru coronavirus testing center in one of New Jersey’s hardest-hit areas reached capacity before it even opened Monday morning, police said.

The Paramus Police Department announced shortly before 7:30 a.m. that it had to start turning away people trying to secure a test at the Bergen Community College site.

“The COVID-19 testing center at Bergen Community College has reached capacity and is not accepting anymore patients today,” police tweeted.

Video posted to Twitter showed dozens of cars in a line wrapped around the testing spot just before 7 a.m.

The state’s first testing center — which opens at 8 a.m. — faced similar woes Friday when it hit capacity just four hours after it opened.

The next day, the site hit capacity about a half-hour after testing got under way.

The state was set to open a second testing center in the parking lot of PNC Art Center in Monmouth County on Monday morning.

New Jersey has confirmed at least 1,900 cases, placing the state behind New York and Washington state, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.
