HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Those green M&M’s really are getting greener.

The New Jersey candy factory that produces M&M’s flipped the switch yesterday on a new solar array that provides clean energy.

The 18-acre field of solar panels in Hackettstown is capable of generating 2.2 megawatts per hour of clean energy. That handles about one-fifth of the Mars Inc. plant’s needs.
