New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie joined more than 1,000 other mourners at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Parsippany yesterday to bid goodbye to his mentor, Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce.

DeCroce, 75, collapsed and died at the Statehouse in Trenton late Monday following the lame-duck legislative session. State police said the death was heart related.
