Con artist Philip Pestrichello faces more than eight years behind bars after pleading guilty in Manhattan Federal Court yesterday to running a $1 million “work-at-home” scam out of his Bayville, NJ, house.
He used direct mail, the Internet and classified ads to tout opportunities for making easy money by slapping address labels on postcards for $1 a pop. But the only person to profit was Pestrichello, who charged up to $350 to join his “Preferred Platinum Services Network.” Most victims got nothing for their work.
