PATERSON, NJ — State police troopers and Paterson police are investigating a shooting near a strip mall in Paterson.

Local news media report that a trooper and a suspect were injured Thursday evening and are being treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

A state police spokesman says the state Attorney General’s Office is to release further details on Friday.
