An NYPD cop, shot under his arm while subduing a suspect in Queens last year, is suing the city because the department never upgraded his bulletproof vest, he says.
Mayor Bloomberg promised to give all city cops better vests after a cop was fatally shot in 2005 through a gap between his vest’s protective panels — but Officer Rodney Lewis of the 104th Precinct says he was never measured for one, according to the lawsuit filed in Queens Supreme Court.
