There is “no plan” to impose a curfew on New York City amid the ongoing chaotic protests over the racially charged death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday.

“No, there is no plan for a curfew,” de Blasio said during a press briefing, the morning after protesters and police clashed in city streets for a third-straight night, with Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan bearing the brunt of the outbursts.

The demonstrations have been marred by vandalism, looting and anti-cop attacks on the part of the protesters — and pushes back by the NYPD that many have criticized as excessive.

While de Blasio dismissed the idea of a curfew, NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea didn’t deny that it was at least on the table.

“There’s no easy answer. It’s certainly [among the] things that we consider,” said Shea, speaking in the same City Hall briefing as Hizzoner. “We consider a range of options when we think about how to keep this city safe.”
