ALBANY — New York winery owners who complained to the Attorney General’s Office that liquor-store owners were threatening to freeze them out are upset because an investigation went nowhere.

The winery owners claim the 2009 threats were in retaliation for their campaign for a law to allow grocery stores to sell wine. They say liquor stores boycotted their products, and some lost thousands of dollars in the past two years.

A representative from the group of wine-makers said an antitrust probe seemed warranted, and then-Attorney General Andrew Cuomo launched an inquiry, but found there was not enough evidence.

Liquor-store representatives say the probe came back empty because there was nothing to find.
