A hard-charging Nor’easter is causing train chaos for commuters on Monday, as downed power lines caused both NJ Transit and Amtrak to suspend some of their trains out of Penn Station.

NJ Transit suspended two lines out of Penn Station because of downed wires, and the routes might not get up and running again until after the evening rush hour, agency officials said at about 4 pm.

The Northeast Corridor line between Penn Station and Trenton is not running in either direction, and neither are New Jersey Coast Line trains between Penn and Long Branch, said officials.

Amtrak’s Northeast Express and Acela lines that travel through New Jersey are also suspended.

Wires belonging to a commercial business fell over the tracks in Linden, causing the suspensions, said officials.

“It will be handled as soon as possible,” said an agency spokeswoman.

In the meantime, other public and private bus companies as well as PATH are cross-honoring NJ Transit tickets, said officials.
