A motorcyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn early Sunday, cops said.
Donnell Oakes, 45, was driving a Suzuki motorbike around 4 a.m. when he crashed with a dark sedan at the intersection of Halsey Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard, according to police.

The NYPD said that Oakes sustained “severe trauma to the head” and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Loudlabs
According to police, the Toyota Camry fled the scene after hitting the motorcyclist. Loudlabs
The accident took place at the Halsey Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard intersection. LoudlabsOakes, who is from Charlotte, NC, suffered “severe trauma to the head” and was taken to Interfaith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
The sedan did not remain at the scene, and the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
