Nurse takes death plunge
A nurse depressed about her personal life jumped to her death from her 10th-floor lower Manhattan office yesterday — leaving behind a note saying, “I just can’t take it anymore,” police and sources said.
Caroline Kenny — a 53-year-old, unmarried RN devoted to her work but with little outside life — landed on the sidewalk in front of 80 Maiden Lane at around 6 a.m., police said. She was found by a building security guard.
A co-worker at the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty said that upon turning 50, Kenny was “kind of going through this, ‘Where am I going? What am I doing?’ ”
Met Council CEO William Rapfogel said Kenny had worked for the agency since 1985, training nurses — “and was terrific at it.”
