Eric Trump is refusing to be interviewed as part of an investigation into the Trump Organization’s financial dealings, New York Attorney General Letitia James alleged in new court papers filed in Manhattan on Monday.

President Trump and his company have been under investigation by the AG’s office since 2019 — following former Trump fixer Michael Cohen’s congressional testimony that Trump’s annual financial statements exaggerated the value of his assets to help him get better terms on loans and insurance policies, James’ office said.

Investigators have issued seven subpoenas for documents and testimony, including from Eric Trump — the executive vice president of the Trump Organization — relating to four company properties throughout the country.

But James says the Trump Organization and the president’s son aren’t cooperating.

The AG is asking a judge to intervene and force the business to answer the subpoenas and compel Eric Trump’s testimony, as he was allegedly “intimately involved” in at least one transaction that her office is reviewing.

“For months, the Trump Organization has made baseless claims in an effort to shield evidence from a lawful investigation into its financial dealings,” James said in a statement. “They have stalled, withheld documents, and instructed witnesses, including Eric Trump, to refuse to answer questions under oath.”

“These questions will be answered and the truth will be uncovered, because no one is above the law,” James continued.

A spokesperson with the Trump Organization called the AG’s action a “dispute over documents and the like.”

“The Trump Organization has done nothing wrong and … the NYAG has made no determination that anything was improper or that any action is forthcoming,” the statement continued.

“While we have tried to cooperate in good faith with the investigation at every turn, the NYAG’s continued harassment of the company as we approach the election (and filing of this motion on the first day of the Republican National Convention) once again confirms that this investigation is all about politics,” the rep said.
