It’s an interstate carny war!
Two New York carnival owners were arrested this week after stealing an amusement trailer truck from a New Jersey party shop worth over $192,000.
William Penn, 52, of Staten Island, and George Smith, 46, of East Meadow, were caught on security cameras on the George Washington Bridge towing the trailer they’d nicked from Funtime Services in Fairfield, New Jersey.
Inside the trailer was a 14-gun water pistol carnival game and “a number of inflatable amusements,” Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna told NJ.com.

Penn and Smith have been charged with second-degree theft and conspiracy to commit theft and Manna noted in a statement: “It is alleged that Penn and Smith work together operating their own carnival amusement business in New York and that both worked together to plan to steal the trailer.”
