Police spent Thanksgiving scouring the woods outside Syracuse looking for a pretty co-ed who disappeared last week.

Jenni-Lyn Watson, 20, had been missing since last Friday, when she returned home to Liverpool, about 14 miles north of Syracuse, from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa., where she is a junior studying dance.

Authorities are focusing on a 600-acre plot of wooded land in nearby Clay where her cellphone was last used, but say they have no solid leads. Friends and family say Watson, a ballerina who danced with the prestigious Moscow Ballet, wouldn’t just disappear.

“This is completely out of character,” said friend Kelly Kinahan. “She’s always in contact with families and friends.”
