New York real estate developer and philanthropist Robert Tishman has died at the age of 94, the Real Estate Board of New York announced yesterday.

Tishman, who died Monday, was founding chairman of Tishman Speyer Properties, which was involved in building the World Trade Center and current reconstruction efforts. Tishman Speyer also owns many properties worldwide including Rockfeller Center and the Chrysler Building.

Tishman had been president and chief executive of Tishman Realty & Construction Co., founded by his grandfather, Julius Tishman.
