NEW YORK — A Long Island doctor has a shot at rapping about how to avoid swine flu.

Dr. John Clarke of Baldwin is one of 10 finalists in a competition sponsored by the federal Department of Health and Human Services for the best public service announcement educating people about swine flu.

The 38-year-old doctor submitted his original video via YouTube in which he raps: “H1N1 Swine flu infection; For intervention, I bring prevention.”

The public will choose the winner, and can cast votes from Aug. 29 to Sept. 16.

The winner will get $2,500. The winning video will air on national television.

Clarke is a medical director for the Long Island Rail Road.
