The city’s drive to green its taxi fleet scored a victory yesterday when a state Supreme Court judge backed rules meant to steer more cash to owners of hybrid cabs.

More owners may buy the eco-friendly cars now that they can charge cabbies an extra $3 a shift, according to the ruling.

Solomon also ruled that fleet owners can’t charge drivers sales tax if that pushes the drivers’ total cost over the maximum lease rates allowed by the TLC.
