Newly minted US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor did a victory lap in Manhattan Supreme Court last night.

“There’s no place like home,” Sotomayor told the adoring crowd, which included state and federal judges, Gov. Paterson and her former boss, DA Robert Morgenthau.

“You taught me how to be a lawyer and you taught me how to be a judge,” she told the audience.

Next up for Sotomayor is throwing out the first pitch tomorrow at the Yankee-Red Sox game at the Stadium.
