A Russian con man suspected in the murders of two New York women killed himself in a Jerusalem jail just hours before his extradition hearing, officials said yesterday.

Eugene Perchikov, 62, fatally sliced himself with a razor blade in a cell he shared with seven other prisoners at the Russian Compound police lockup, Israeli authorities said.

Perchikov was arrested and jailed in October after being indicted by a Manhattan grand jury. He was due in front of a judge yesterday.

Perchikov was suspected in the 2002 death of his Brooklyn mistress, Larysa Vasserman, and the 2004 Manhattan death of longtime family friend Tatiana Korkhova.

The women, both 54, were found dead in their beds after Perchikov talked them into signing million-dollar life-insurance policies.

He collected on one life-insurance plan and fled the United States with that $1 million three years ago.
