ALBANY — New York officials are putting new limits on how many free parking placards the state issues and who gets them, after reviewing a system they say was flawed and ripe for abuse.
Gov. Cuomo yesterday said that the number of police placards would be reduced from 1,730 to 261 and that they’d go only to police personnel after review by the State Police.
The number distributed to executive agencies and the Legislature will also be reduced — from 2,210 to 1,993.
