PORT WASHINGTON, NY— A Long Island based pet rescue group will be seeking homes for dozens of new arrivals from Texas and Missouri.
About 65 dogs and puppies are expected to arrive late Tuesday afternoon at the North Shore Animal League America.
The animals were rescued from commercial breeding operations.
They come in all shapes, sizes and ages. The breeds include Chihuahua, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and “Chiweenie” — a combination of Chihuahua and Dachshund.
They’ll be evaluated medically and behaviorally, and also spayed or neutered.
The puppies and dogs will become available for adoption on Saturday in Port Washington, NY
