WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A suburban New York City parish priest has pleaded guilty to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from church accounts, including a fund for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore’s office said Patrick Dunne pleaded guilty on Tuesday to second-degree felony grand larceny.

Dunne had pleaded not guilty in June. But prosecutors say he changed his plea as the case was about to go to trial. He faces a maximum five to 15 years in prison when he’s sentenced Jan. 12.

Prosecutors say that between 2002 and 2007 Dunne stole more than $430,000 from Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in White Plains.

The Archdiocese of New York didn’t immediately return a call for comment.
