ALBANY — New York’s historic state capitol building got a thorough scrubbing Monday after two state lawmakers tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

Photos snapped by The Post show state workers in protective gloves scrubbing the Assembly and Senate chambers, other portions of the capitol and the tower that hosts the lawmakers’ offices.

“I’ve seen them come through about four times today already,” said one veteran capitol staffer, who was not authorized to speak.

Another said: “It’s noticeably cleaner, compared to every other day I’ve worked here. You can definitely smell it. You see staff wiping down things like keyboards, doorknobs, doors.”

The scrubbing comes two days after Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie revealed that two Democratic lawmakers from Brooklyn, Assembly members Charles Barron and Helen Weinstein, tested positive for the dangerous disease.

Assembly officials said that both Weinstein and Barron are in good spirits.
