ALBANY — There’s a high level of voter support for legalizing medical marijuana in New York state.

A full 70 percent of state voters, including 58 percent of Republicans, back prescribing pot to sick patients, a Quinnipiac University poll found.

Both Mayor Bloomberg and Gov. Cuomo have expressed opposition, with the mayor saying medicinal pot “is one of the great hoaxes of all time.”
