Manhattan’s flagship Apple Store reopened after three months of coronavirus lockdown Wednesday — but it’s a far cry from the old experience of lingering for hours while placing your grubby digits all over the gadgets.

Temperature checks greeted customers at the iconic Fifth Avenue emporium, where those who’d made appointments for pickups or device repairs were allowed to enter one at a time — escorted underground by private security.

Nick Chablaney, 24, was initially disappointed to learn he couldn’t still walk in to browse the store, but quickly came around to the new system.

“You can do curbside pick up! So you order on your phone and go down and get it. It’s great,” he told The Post.

Inside the store, a dedicated cleaning staff is wiping handrails and tables every 10 minutes, and mopping the stairs and floors every 15 minutes, employees said.

The store shuttered in March along with all retail locations outside of China due to the COVID-19 — then was seen boarded up earlier this month as protests swept the city over George Floyd’s death.

The Big Apple began allowing curbside pickup last week, but many chains are taking their time in figuring out how to operate under the restrictions.

There appeared to be appointments available online Wednesday for Apple Store locations in all five boroughs — save for the World Trade Center store.

“This week we’ll return to serving customers in many more US locations including by appointment in New York City, where we’re proud to stand beside New Yorkers as they emerge from this incredibly difficult time,” the company said.
