A 72-year-old man was slashed in the face in an unprovoked attack in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning, police said.
The victim was near Beverly Road and East 16th Street in Flatbush when he was assaulted by the unknown suspect at about 6 a.m., cops said.
The assailant approached the victim from behind and pushed the man before slashing him several times in the face with a knife, authorities said.
The 72-year-old victim, who was slashed several times in the face, was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Christopher SadowskiPolice said the suspect fled on foot southbound on Marlborough Road towards Cortelyou Road.
The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
