The May 13 fundraiser that President Obama will be in New York City for will also feature House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the New York Congressional Delegation – and is being billed as a celebration of the health care reform bill passing.

The event – a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee – will be held at the St. Regis Hotel. Obama’s plan to come to New York was first reported by Glenn Thrush at Politico.com, but officials were still sorting out the details.

New York s become a surprise battleground in the health care fight, with many Democratic congressional members lding marginal districts girding for fights over their “yes” votes – although in the case of Staten Island Rep. Mike McMahon, he’s getting pounded for his “no” vote.
