The state is finally taking disciplinary action against a Manhattan ER doctor busted for sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child — five years after his alleged crime.
Dr. Michael Hilton was arrested in December 2017 and accused of having oral sex with a 16-year-old boy, according to a criminal complaint.
At the time, Hilton was 33 and an attending physician and associate medical director for EMS and disaster preparedness at the Mount Sinai Health System, according to his Linkedin profile.
He pleaded guilty in 2019 to one count each of a criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child with conditions including entering sex offender therapy, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
The DA’s office said he completed the terms of the agreement on March 25, 2021, and that the criminal sex act charge was dismissed. Hilton was sentenced to three years probation for endangering the welfare of a child.
But the state Department of Health’s Office for Professional Medical Conduct did not issue a charge of misconduct against Hilton until Jan. 19. The action could result in his medical license being yanked.
A DOH spokeswoman said the agency would not comment on pending disciplinary cases or why it took so long to issue the misconduct charge.
Hilton, whose online resume says he is a medical director at Sollis Health, a concierge care service, did not return a request for comment.
A Mount Sinai spokeswoman said Hilton was dismissed in 2016.
A spokesman for Sollis Health said that after reading about the allegations against Hilton in The Post, the company conducted an investigation and terminated his employment.
