An elderly paraprofessional was arrested for allegedly shoving a teen student who was allegedly acting up inside a Brooklyn public school on Monday, law enforcement sources said.

Luis Benalcazar, 75, is accused of pushing a 14-year-old boy on the staircase of PS 373, also known as Brooklyn Transition Center, on Ellery Street near Throop Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, according to the sources.

Luis Benalcazar, 75, allegedly pushed a 14-year-old student inside PS 373, also known as Brooklyn Transition Center, on Monday morning.

The teen became “disorderly” while walking up the stairs — prompting Benalcazar to push him into the railing, causing a minor injury, the sources said.

Benalcazar was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, cops said.

The injured student was treated at the scene and refused medical attention when his guardian arrived, sources said.

“This alleged behavior is completely unacceptable,” city Department of Education spokeswoman Jenna Lyle said in a statement. “This employee has been suspended pending the outcome of the arrest, and if convicted, we will pursue their termination. There is nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our students.”

The assault follows a string of violent incidents involving teens in the Big Apple last week.

Just last week, a 14-year-old girl was stabbed in the leg inside a Bronx high school, and a 16-year-old boy was robbed at knifepoint in Sheepshead Bay.

Another teenager was slashed in the face in Fordham Heights, while a 14-year-old boy was repeatedly sliced by three other teenagers in East New York.
