An e-bike rider was killed when he slammed into a pole on the Upper East Side early Monday, cops said. 

The man was heading south in the bike lane on Second Avenue near East 89th Street around 12:40 a.m. when he lost control and struck a pole on the sidewalk, police said. 

He suffered head trauma and was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The cyclist’s identity was not immediately known. 

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
