Several EMS workers were punched repeatedly while responding to an emergency call in the Bronx Thursday night, according to police.
The EMTs were responding to a report of an emotionally disturbed person at an apartment building on Sedgwick Avenue in Morris Heights around 10 p.m. when the unhinged man suddenly pummeled the first responders, police and sources said.

Both were taken to a local hospital in stable condition, cops said.
The FDNY said two other EMS workers were also hospitalized for injuries sustained on the call.
Police responded and arrested Jose Bencosme, 22, who lived in the building, cops said.
