Manhattan mass shooter Shane Tamura’s brain will be examined as part of his autopsy after the crazed gunman blamed an apparent football-related head injury for the deadly attack, officials confirmed.
The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office determined the 27-year-old gunman died by suicide after his heinous rampage inside a Midtown office building, which is home to the NFL’s headquarters, on Monday night.

Obtained by the NY PostThe medical examiner said a neuropathology expert was in the process of carrying out “additional testing” on the gunman’s brain for the “complete autopsy record.”
CTE — a degenerative brain disease that’s caused by concussions and repeated blows to the head — can only be diagnosed by examining a brain after death.
Meanwhile, the medical examiner also determined the cause of death for each of the shooter’s four victims.
