A doctor at New York City’s jail has been accused of sexually abusing a female inmate.

City officials say Franck Leveille was charged Wednesday with criminal sexual act and sexual abuse.

The alleged crime occurred during an examination of the inmate on March 28.

Andrew Plasse, the lawyer for the 24-year-old inmate, says the woman has filed a lawsuit against Leveille.

The doctor’s lawyer, Andrew Schoer, says his client is innocent.

Leveille, of Rockville Centre, Long Island, is being held on $50,000 bail.

He’s worked at Rikers Island since 1998. He’s employed by PHS Medical Services, which has a contract with the city to work at Rikers.
