A 45-year-old man was killed, possibly shot, during a clash on a Bronx subway early Friday – with cops looking for three suspects who fled the train in the wake of the bloodshed.

The slain straphanger was either shot or stabbed when the fight broke out on the southbound D train as it pulled into the 182 -183 Sts. D train station at about 5:00 a.m., cops said.

Despite there being multiple witnesses and surveillance footage, police haven’t been able to determine the victim’s cause of death – only saying his injuries were consistent with “a gunshot wound or a puncture wound from a sharp object.”

Police have confirmed to The Post that the victim was shot or stabbed in his torso while riding the southbound D train as it pulled into the 182 -183 St. station at 5:02 a.m.

The victim, who cops described as not being the “primary aggressor,” had been riding the subway when the three suspects – two men and one woman – hopped into his train car, according to the NYPD.

One of the alleged perps immediately sat down next to the victim and the two began getting into an argument, cops said.

“They both stand up and then the words turn physical,” NYPD Assistant Chief Jerry O’Sullivan said, adding that the fight quickly became “three on one” when the two other suspects joined in.

The trio was seen running off when the train pulled into the station.

Investigators released pictures of the alleged attackers, who remained on the loose later Friday.

The victim, only identified as a Bronx resident, was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The city medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death, cops said.

Photos from the scene showed first responders attempting life-saving measures on the injured victim on the side of the platform as the train was held at the station.

B and D trains were forced to bypass the station in both directions as cops secured the scene, the MTA said. The service later resumed.
